Why are some of the toolbar buttons disabled?
The action the button should perform is invalid for the selected item.
How do I create a new Questionnaire?
Enter the Q-Manage tab. The default page for this tab is Edit Questionnaires. In this page click on the new toolbar button.
On the opened dialog box enter you new questionnaire's name. If you want you can add a description. This description is not visible to your audience.
If you want to number the questions in the qestionnaire in custom numbering (i.e. not standard sequestial numbers), check the Use custom numbering for the questions box.
Click the Create button.
You are automatically redirected to the edit questionnaire page. Here you can start adding questions to your questionnaire.
What kind of questions can I create?
There are 18 types of questions (you can create a sample questionnaire that includes all these types), including:
Multi choice - A questiona with several options as answers
Open text - A question that the respondents can fill whatever text they like
Matrix - A set of questions sharing the same set of answers (options)
Image areas - An image with areas marked on it. Each area is an answer option
Description - A free text block that helps the respondents understand the questionnaire's flow
How do I create a multi choice question?
In the edit questionnaire page, click the new toolbar button.
Select the Multi choice question type.
If your questionnaire uses custom numbering, enter the question number.
Enter the question text or edit it through the Rich Text Editor.
Enter the answers. Separate the answers with an "Enter" key stroke.
Check the Give the answers values box and enter "from" and "to" values, to set a value scale to the options.
Check the Allow multi-selection of answers box if you want the respondents to be able to choose more than one option.
Check the Display question and answers on the same line box if you have few short options. This will display the question and the answers on the same line.
Check the Allow the user to enter free text in last the option box if you want to have a free text line attached to the last option (e.g. if you think there may be an "Other" option).
Check the All answers are user free text box to give a free text line each answer.
Click the Add button.
How do I create an open text question?
In the edit questionnaire page, click the new toolbar button.
Select the Open text question type.
If your questionnaire uses custom numbering, enter the question number.
Enter the question text or edit it through the Rich Text Editor.
Check the Show answer as a single line of input box if you expect the answer to be short. This will display a single line input field for the respondent.
Click the Add button.
How do I create a matrix question?
In the edit questionnaire page, click the new toolbar button.
Select the Matrix question type.
If your questionnaire uses custom numbering, enter the question number.
Enter the question text or edit it through the Rich Text Editor.
Enter the answer options. Separate the options with an "Enter" key stroke.
Enter the sub-questions. Separate the sub-questions with an "Enter" key stroke.
Check the Give the answers values box and enter "from" and "to" values, to set a value scale to the options.
Check the Allow multi-selection of answers in each sub question box if you want the respondents to be able to choose more than one option per sub-question.
Click the Add button.
How do I create an image areas question?
In the edit questionnaire page, click the new toolbar button.
Select the Image areas question type.
If your questionnaire uses custom numbering, enter the question number.
Enter the question text or edit it through the Rich Text Editor.
Click the Edit Image button to open the Image Areas Editor.
Select the image to display.
Mark the areas on the image and give them values.
Click the Save button in the editor.
Click the Add button.For a detailed step by step guidance, enter the Image Areas Editor and click the Help button.
How do I create a description?
In the edit questionnaire page, click the new toolbar button.
Select the Description question type.
If your questionnaire uses custom numbering, enter the question number.
Enter the description text or edit it through the Rich Text Editor.
Click the Add button.
How do I add a page break?
After clicking the page break toolbar button, a page break is added, by default, as the last question entry.
Clicking this page break line will cause a blue cirle button to appear left to the page break line. Click it.
Line separators will appear between all the questions. When you hover the mouse over these lines, a blue circle will appear to indicate your position.
Click the place where you want the page break to be moved to.
If you decided not to move the page break, click the blue circle again, and the lines will disappear.
What is the Rich Text Edit button?
The Rich Text Edit button opens a popup window with a text editor that lets you create rich text blocks, including changing of fonts, colors, size, adding images, tables and many more options.
When you are done with editing the text you like, click the Save button.
How do I change the order of the questions within the questionnaire?
In the edit questionnaire page, click the question you want to move.
A blue cirle button will appear left to the question. Click it.
Line separators will appear between all the questions. When you hover the mouse over these lines, a blue circle will appear to indicate your position.
Click the place where you want the question to be moved to.

How do I test the create-distribute-respond-analyze cycle of a questionnaire?
In the questionnaire or container edit page, click the Test Survey toolbar button.
This will create a test distribution instance and will send you an email with a link to the response page of the questionnaire.
Click the link in the email and respond to it.
Navigate to the analyze page, where you will find the test distribution instance.
By viewing the results for this distribution instance you will be able to see the analytics pages of the questionnaire and complete the create-distribute-respond-analyze cycle.
Note: Creating a test distribution does not cost anything and the questionnaire is not locked for editing, as in the case of a real distribution.
What is a Container?
A container is a questionnaire that contains a number of questionnaires within it.
How do I create a Container?
Enter the Q-Manage tab. The default page for this tab is Edit Questionnaires. In this page click on the new container toolbar button.
On the opened dialog box enter you new container's name. If you want you can add a description. This description is not visible to your audience.
Check the Enable collapsing of sub-questionnaires box if you want your respondents to see each questionnare as a different page. If this box id remained unchecked, all the questionnaires will be concatenated for your respondents to one long questionnaire.
Check the Display sub-questionnaires index in first page box if you want the first page to have a linkable list of the sub-questionnaires, letting the user jump to any sub-questionnaire without having to go through every one of them.
Click the Create button.

What is the Container Description Text?
The Container Description Text is a rich text block that will appear at the beginning of a container just before the list of sub-questionnaire, in the case of a collapsible one, or before the entire questions collect, in the case of an expanded container.
How do I add questionnaires to a container?
In the edit container page, click the add toolbar button and select the questionnaire you want to add from the drop-down menu.

If you are in the edit questionnaire page, click the preview toolbar button.
If you are in the edit container page, click the preview container toolbar button. or select a sub-questionnaire and click the preview toolbar button to preview only the sub-questionnaire.
If you are in the Edit Questionnaires page, click the questionnaire or container you want to preview and click the preview toolbar button.
How do I create my audience list?
Enter the My Audience tab.
Click the new toolbar button.
Enter the name and email address of your contact. You may also add a private description.
Click the Add button.
You may create groups of audiences by clicking the new group toolbar button, and selecting which of your contacts to add to the new group.
What do I need to do in order to import my contacts from Outlook?
In order to import you contacts from outlook, several steps need to be done.
Step 1 - Make sure your outlook is running.
Step 2 - From the Tools menu of Internet Explorer select "Internt Options", In the "Internt Options" window press the Security tab, make sure the "Intent Zone" is selected (press the earth icon) and then press the "Custom Level..." button. In the new window opened scroll down untill you find the item that states "Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting, Make sure that either the Enable or Prompt radio buttons are selected. Press the OK button in this window, and acknoweldge the warning message. Press OK in the "Internet Options" window.
Step 3 - Select the outlook radio button and press thre import button.
Step 4 - A message box from your Firewall program might appear, asking you if you allow to activate the program, You need to allow.
Step 5 - A message box from the browser verifiyng you allow the ActiveX to operate, you need to allow.
step 6 - A meessage box might appear in your outlook stating that a program is trying to access it, please the "allow for .." check box select "5 minutes" and press the OK button.
Now your contacts should apear.
What do I need to do in order to import my contacts from an Excel file?
Step 1 - create an excel file that has 3 columns. Column A is the contact first name, column B is the last name of the contact and column C is its email address.
Step 2 - From the Tools menu of Internet Explorer select "Internt Options", In the "Internt Options" window press the Security tab, make sure the "Intent Zone" is selected (press the earth icon) and then press the "Custom Level..." button. How do I distribute my questionnaire?
Enter the Q-Manage tab. Click on the Distribute sub-menu to enter the distribution wizard.
Step 1 - Select the questionnaire or the container you want to distribute, and click the next toolbar button.
Note: a distributed questionnaire becomes locked for editing!
Step 2 - Give the distribution instance a name and select whether you want it to be distibuted anonymously or not. Click the next toolbar button.
Step 3 - Select the audience to receive emails requesting them to answer the questionnaire. Click the next toolbar button.
Step 4 - Edit the subject and foreword of the email that will be sent to your audience. You can click the test email toolbar button to receive a preview of the email to your email address. Click the next toolbar button.
Step 5 - Preview the distibution options you chose. You can go back and change any option you want or click the distribute toolbar button to distribute your questionnaire.
How can I see the responses to my questionnaire?
Enter the Q-Manage tab and click on the Analyze sub-menu.
Choose the distribution instance you want to view the results of.
Click the view toolbar button, or the view icon left to the distribution instance name.
By default, the accumulative responses page is open.
You may click the by respondents sub-menu to view the list of respondents and select the response you wish to view.
How do I export my questionnaire results to MS Excel?
In the Questionnaires Mng. page navigate to the analyze page, there you will find the list of distributed questionnaires. Select and view the questionnaire you want to export its results, and then click the export to excel button.
Why can't I change my questionnaire?
When distributing a questionnaire or a container, the questionnaire or the container and all of its sub-questionnaires become locked for editing.
You cannot change a distributed questionnaire!
The reason is simple: if you would be able to change a distributed questionnare, you could change the meaning of questions and/or answers and the responses given by your respondents would be invalid.
How do I change my profile?
Enter the My Profile tab.
Change whatever property you want and click the save toolbar button.
What is viral distribution ?
Viral distribution allows your audience to forward the email sent by you to thier friends, thus allowing you to have a larger response set. This is usefull when either you like as many as possible opinions for your questionniare or you simply when you have a limitied set of people as your audience and you need more responses.
This option is available only when a questionaire is sent anonymously.
How do I add a YouTube video clip?
Navigate to YouTube, and find the clip you want to insert into your questionnaire.
In your questionnaire, click "new question", select the Question type you want to create, and open the Rich Text Edit.
Press the Insert Flash Button .
Copy your "YouTube" clip page's URL and click "OK".
Add your question text before or after the flash clip placeholder.
Press "Save" to close the Rich Text Editor.
How do I limit the time for answering a page?
Add a page break and place it as you like.
